Chiropractic is a word derived from two ancient Greek words meaning "done by hand". It was established in the late 1800's by Canadian healer Daniel David Palmer, who claimed that the spine is the center of the body. Palmer felt that when the spine is out of alignment, the body is unable to function at its optimal level. Chiropractic treatment involves identifying where spinal misalignments are located and on realigning the spine.
